It is amazing what you can do in 15 minutes! Ususally that it all it takes. Do another 15 minutes if necessary. Don't get sidtracked though! Once I have tied up the room, I then tackle some of my repairs jobs or UFOs. I find that getting that out of the way clears my mind no end! And then I'm ready to move from inspiration to planning to actually DOING! Good luck!Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01076809219665298002noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4595089853264619781.post-18006696462792966982011-08-15T13:17:23.009+01:002011-08-15T13:17:23.009+01:00Major tidying up of your sewing space. I recently ...Major tidying up of your sewing space. I recently felt overwhelmed, too, and the first thing I did was dump out the 2 drawers of interfacing and reorganize them into what they were supposed to be: one drawer of organza, batiste, and that bias tailoring stuff, wigan; and one drawer of fusibles, other woven nonfusibles, and hair canvas. I felt much better then.BetsyVhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14824251716471351275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4595089853264619781.post-72375596248921742552011-08-15T13:06:32.065+01:002011-08-15T13:06:32.065+01:00I know exactly how you feel! I think the advice given above is excellent - a big clear-up is excellent for clearing the brain.Eugeniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07584571701550775408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4595089853264619781.post-32544646321632221302011-08-15T10:58:05.139+01:002011-08-15T10:58:05.139+01:00I agree with the others - a clean up of your room ...I agree with the others - a clean up of your room may also clear your head when overwhelmed. Your tweed would look nice with your orange tops you have sewn - perhaps that next ???Janinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14384221374769122673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4595089853264619781.post-10730138389825362492011-08-15T10:54:40.234+01:002011-08-15T10:54:40.234+01:00I tidy up a bit first. Then go into the wardrobe ...I tidy up a bit first. Then go into the wardrobe and decide which thing I really need to make. At that point the whole thing crystallises in my head and I realise what I really, really want to make... usually this is something which I don't actually need. :) But at least I have a decision.Jennihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01380047564035289054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4595089853264619781.post-75839710319324979462011-08-14T22:33:11.347+01:002011-08-14T22:33:11.347+01:00Thanks Carol, I'd gone away and started tidyin...Thanks Carol, I'd gone away and started tidying up in another room, but need to get a grip in the sewing room too :-)SewRuthiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09277062926597842242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4595089853264619781.post-42392929261221471372011-08-14T22:21:32.212+01:002011-08-14T22:21:32.212+01:00When I get like that I stop sewing and tidy up. I find that as I shuffle through books and patterns, I start to get a clearer idea of where I want to go and some things I was sure I wanted to make end up getting put aside in favour of things that I think work better.Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11274649006496918800noreply@blogger.com
