Botanical Garden: Olive Top

I just completed an olive knit top with running stitch design inspired by a picture of bamboo in spring green.
The tee has a slightly scooped neckline with applied band,. 1 " hem and cuffed elbow length sleeves.
I cut this front a remant of fabric only about 70cm long (though 150cm wide which helped).
I wonder if the design is too subtle? I was trying to create something quite grown up, but also with a natural feel.

  1. Ruthie, that is very clever use of embroidery. I think the embellishment looks terrific. It is subtle enough that you can wear the top as a neutral, yet adds interest and texture to the garment.

  2. I think its beautiful. Very subtle and makes the top look very expensive. Such neat stitches too. It must have taken you ages.

  3. It's great, it is subtle, but is more sophisticated with the simple design.

  4. Saw the link on Stitcher's Guild. I really like it! I think if it were any less subtle, it would be less peaceful and take away from the embroidery.

  9. Your embroidery looks fantastic. Not too subtle, but subtle enough.I woud say it had the perfect amount of subtlety if I thought I could spell it right.
