Interesting knit top styles: my version of striped top

Here it is..... my version of the striped top with the angled panels.
I've gone asymetric to fit things on to my shorter/wider front.
Still needs hemming but here's how its come out.
In between the black stripes, the lighter stripes alternate between white and pale pink, it doesn't show too well on the photo.
Its just sewn on the 'normal' machine, as despite a complete rethreading from scratch the blasted Bernina 800DL won't sew more than an inch before going wrong. I'm fed up with it, it wasn't cheap and it should sew better than that. If I've threaded it wrongly why will it sew an inch before losing the will- surely it wouldn't make the stitches at all?

Great top!!

About the overlocker, I've also got an 800DL and had a beast of a time with it last fall - it bent two upper loopers in rapid succession but it manifested in the exact same way you're describing. A local repair shop fixed it both times (the second time I made him bill Bernina, and it worked), but it turned me off Bernina's entirely. He gave me a Janome as my loaner machine, and it was essentially the same machine, but £100 less. And I now know what I'm going to buy the next time my Bernina breaks... But anyway, have a look and see if your upper loper is getting in the way. You may just need a replacement sent.

Gorgeous top. As to the overlocker... I agree with Melissa, to look at the upper looper as mine, if threaded wrong, will sew a bit before breaking the thread in a temper. You could also check whether the looper threads are crossing which can cause one of the loopers to break the thread on the other looper.
