Frugal Fabric Friday: Simplicity 4966

Here's a hanger shot of the new skirt
It is made from remnants of fabric using Simplicity 4966. I wore it today with black tights/knee high boots and a red top/jacket.
From that wearing I would conclude that it really needs a lining, and probably the back waist taking in slightly for my sway back. It's a very flattering shape on my full thighs, with a nice little flare at the hem and I love the way it can be made up from oddly shaped leftover scraps of fabric.
As such I am very likely to make it again should the scraps be the right shape.

It might be a while before I post again folks! So enjoy for now.

I love this skirt. It is so clever to use office-type fabric for what is presented as an arty sort of casual pattern. It makes a terrific, quite formal, office skirt with some subtle Ruthie bohemian input.

Very cute skirt and agree completely with kbenco.

The skirt is really delightful, and once tweaked a bit seems like it will be friends with so many things in your wardrobe...

That's a terrific skirt. Very nice. Come back soon. We've lost too many bloggers.

That is a really nice skirt and terrific for work. It has that business look but it has that Ruthie undertone to it. I am sure you will make it again.

I concur with Kbenco as well. What a great skirt. I also agree with gwensews. I know you're in the middle of a move and work. I hope to see you around soon!

I really like this - I love the way the print works with the different pieces. This may have to go on my to-be-sewn list.
