Monthly sewing group this month was to make hexagon shaped coasters.
It's a simple technique which could be adapted for lots of shapes and sizes (and some really small bits of fabric).
Our group organiser gave us instructions for the sizes of the pieces, from which I made templates for the ones above.
However you could do something a slightly different shape (square, rectangular) by just adding 3/4" (just under 2cm) for the backing. It could be a great way to use up small pieces of precious fabric. You may see some more of these....
