Here I used dark blue, turquoise and green faux pearls in various sizes with some smaller irridescent beads for a long necklace on beading wire. I also made 2 pairs of earrings with sterling silver hooks.
I also added chain to two existing short necklaces which were not wearable. I am really pleased with the result.
I wore the right hand red one today with a red and navy outfit.

Hi Ruth, long time reader and lurker here. I'm really loving your jewellery alterations and was wondering if you would mind sharing where you are sourciing your chain from that you are using for your extensions. Thanks in advance - Kate
Hi Kate I bought this necklace - Mixed Metal Multi-Row Collar - from Wallis (in Debenhams) in the sale. I then removed the various strands with pliers as I needed them. They are in sets of 4 very thin strands in either silver, gold or rose gold. I've used all the silver ones and some of the gold.

You can also order form an online jewellery place like

I've not bought their chain but have got some nice things from them which i was pleased with.
You can also try places like Hobbycraft or the Range.
Thanks Ruth. I will have to see if I can get myself one of those from Wallis.
The turquoise and green one is gorgeous. They are all pretty, but the turquoise one particularly.
